People want change: Chiru

People want change: Chiru
Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) chief Chiranjeevi today said the people of the State, who were vexed with the ruling Congress
Government as well as the earlier TDP regime, were now eagerly looking forward for a change.

Speaking at roadshows on the third day of his Praja Ankita Yatra in and around Kakinada, he said the people had no reason to vote for the Congress and TDP which looted the State in all aspects. Accusing the two parties of indulging in largescale corruption, Chiranjeevi said the Congress had looted people under the guise of development while the TDP had started Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to take away their lands.

Questioning the need to establish the Coastal Corridor, he said it was intended to benefit some individuals at the expense of thousands of fishermen and farmers who would be thrown out of their lands. At this rate, if allowed, the Government would not hesitate to even mortgage the lives of the people for the personal gain of some people, he alleged.

The Congress Government had neglected the welfare of fishermen in the district.

Once the PRP came to power, it would take up the Anchorage Port issue and also review the agreements with a private party for creating a Deep Water Port. The party would sort out all the problems of the people, including bringing down the prices of essential commodities, he said.

Stating that his bond with the people was 30 years old, he said he would live up to their expectations. He appealed to the people to teach a fitting lesson to the corrupt rulers by electing the PRP with a huge majority in the elections. PRP convenor MS Chakravarthi, secretary Vanga Geetha and other leaders accompanied Chiranjeevi.
